 Update from August 11, 2014

For those of you who were not there yesterday, we lost 25-11 to Beth Tikvah. That levels our record for the season at 4-4-1.
The last game of the regular season is this coming Sunday at Bishops Cross at 9:30 am vs. Beth Sholom (3-4-2). This is a make-up game from a rain-out in July. We are the visiting team.
This game will determine whether we finish in 7th or 8th place. If we win or tie we finish in 7th place and play either Temple Har Zion or Beth Tikvah in the first round of the playoffs (most likely Beth Tikvah). If we lose we finish in 8th place and play Holy Blossom in the first round.
I will be in Chicago this weekend so I will not be playing. If you have not done so already, please let me know as early as possible if you will be playing this week.
The playoffs start August 24th. We are off for Labor Day week-end. The playoffs continue through September.
Bishops Cross is located on John Street between the 404 and Leslie/Don Mills in Thornhill. John street is the point where Don Mills changes to Leslie as you move north.

Update from August 7, 2014

We tied our last game 25-25 with Beth David. That was enough for us to clinch a spot in the top 8 for the playoffs. Our record is now 4-3-1.
Our next game is this coming Sunday – August 10th - at 9:30 am at Bishops Cross vs. Beth Tikvah (5-2-1). We are the home team.
Bishops Cross is located on John Street between the 404 and Leslie/Don Mills in Thornhill. John street is the point where Don Mills changes to Leslie as you move north.

Update from July 24, 2014

Our next game is this coming Sunday – July 27th - at 9:30 am at Bayview Reservoir vs. Beth David (1-6). We are the home team.
Bayview Reservoir is just south of the 407, off Bayview. Turn east off Bayview onto Sycamore and go about 100 yards. Sycamore is the 2nd light south of the 407.
If you have not already done so, please let me know if you will not be able to make it.
We are off for the long weekend and play on August 10th. Playoffs are tentatively scheduled to start August 17th, but will be pushed back a week if we need to make-up our rained out game from earlier this month. If we win either of our next two games, or the make-up game, we are in the top 8.

Update from July 10, 2014

We lost 23-15 to TKA last Sunday. The game went back and forth until about the 6th, and then we stopped scoring. We played 8 on 8.
Our record for the year is now 4-3. Our next game is this coming Sunday – June 13th - at 9:30 am at Bishops Cross vs. Beth Sholom. We are the visiting team.Beth Sholom is 2-3-2. They beat Holy Blossom (2nd place) and tied Temple Har Zion (3rd place), two of the teams we lost to. However, they lost to Beth Emeth (5th place) and Pride of Israel (7th place) and tied Neshamah (9th place), three of the teams we beat. So anything could happen.Bishops Cross is located on John Street between the 404 and Leslie/Don Mills in Thornhill. John street is the point where Don Mills changes to Leslie as you move north. We have a bye on July 20th. We have a game on July 27th and are off on August 3rd for the long weekend.

Update From July 2, 2014

We won our last game 12-5 over Neshamah. We scored most of our runs in the later innings. Solid defense and just enough offense. Our record for the season is now 4-2.
Our next game is this coming Sunday, July 6th at 9:30 am at Oriole vs. Temple Kol Ami (5-1).
We are the home team this week.

Oriole is located on Don Mills Road approximately midway between Sheppard Avenue to the south and Finch Avenue to the north. This section of Don Mills Road is commonly referred to as the "peanut" and has one-way restrictions northbound on the eastern side and southbound on the western side. Since the field is located on the western side, it must be approached by travelling southbound until you see the school, hockey rink and then field. Park in the Arena parking lot and the field is just south of the rink.
For the remainder of July, we play on the 13th and 27th. We have a bye on July 20th.

Update From June 22, 2014

We won 20-14 last Sunday. Our record for the season is now 3-2.
Our next game is this coming Sunday, June 22nd at 9:30 am at Grandview vs. Neshamah (0-3-1). While Neshamah has yet to record a win this season, they have played the teams that are currently in 1st, 2nd and 4th place in their 4 games and have kept the score very close in three of their games.
We are the home team this week.

Grandview park is on the southwest corner of Doncaster and Henderson in Thornhill, about 1 km east of Yonge. From Yonge, take Meadowview, which runs east from Yonge, about half way between Steeles and Clarke. Meadowview turns into Doncaster about 200 yards east of Yonge.

There are no league games on June 29th (Canada Day very long weekend). The league has permits for the Tudor diamonds for that morning. Let me know if you are interested in playing an inter-squad game that morning. The teams will be made up with players from different teams in the league. Unlike the event last year, this will be just one game in the morning

Update from June 15, 2014

We lost 24-10 last Sunday. Enough said. Our record for the season is 2-2.
Our next game is this coming Sunday, June 15th at 9:30 am at Bayview Reservoir vs. Beth Emeth (2-1-1). Beth Emeth has rejoined the league this year, so they are not officially an expansion team. They are certainly not playing like an expansion team.
We are the visiting team this week.
Bayview Reservoir is just south of the 407, off Bayview. Turn east off Bayview onto Sycamore and go about 100 yards. Sycamore is the 2nd light south of the 407.
There is no game on June 29th (Canada Day very long weekend).

Update from June 8, 2014

With our 29-2 win last week over Beth Torah, our record for the season is 2-1.
Our next game is this coming Sunday, June 8th at 9:30 am at Goulding South vs. Holy Blossom (2-0-1). Holy Blossom made it to the league championship game last year but lost to Beth Tikvah. They beat Beth Tikvah earlier this season.
We are the home team this week.

Our next game is this coming Sunday, June 1st at 9:30 am at Bishops Cross vs. Beth Torah (0-1).
We are visiting team this week. We have lost to Beth Torah the past two seasons. They seem to play us better than they do against the rest of the league.
Bishops Cross is located on John Street between the 404 and Leslie/Don Mills in Thornhill. John street is the point where Don Mills changes to Leslie as you move north.

Update from Friday May 11, 2014

For those of you who were not there last week, we won 24-11. We turned four double plays. Ten runs in the 8th inning was key for the offense.
Our next game is this coming Sunday May 11th vs. Temple Har Zion at Goulding South. We are the visiting team.
To give people time to make it for Mother's Day events, games in the league start early this week – 9:00 am – and we only play 7 innings. We should be finished by 10:30 am.
If you have not already done so, please let me know if you are playing tomorrow.
Goulding Park is on Goulding street, just west of Yonge, between Finch and Steeles.
We do not play on the last two Sundays in May. Our next game after this Sunday is on June 1st.

Team,

I hope everyone had a good winter. It was certainly long enough.

The 2014 season starts on Sunday May 4th at 9:30 vs. Pride of Israel at Goulding North. This is a rematch of our quarter-final in last year's playoff where we lost the series 2-1.

We are going to have a practice this coming Sunday April 27th at 9:30 at Goulding. We don't have a permit for this coming Sunday, so we will take whichever diamond is available.

Let me know if you are in.

Goulding Park is on Goulding street, just west of Yonge, between Finch and Steeles.

We play on May 11th – Mother's Day - 9:00 am start and 7 inning game so we should be finished by 10:30 am. Then we are off for the last two weeks of May.
